COLLECT YOUR HAIR

Set aside clean, unused hair extensions or clippings. Hair must be debris-free and at least 1 inch long. Ponytails 4 inches or longer are especially valuable.

02

SIGN UP TO DONATE

03

SEND IT IN

Mail your donation to the nearest Matter of Trust location. They'll direct you to the closest drop-off point based on where you are.

At GlamLocks, we believe empowered stylists can change the world - and that starts right in your salon chair. Every day, salons across the country throw away pounds of cut and unused hair. But what if that hair could clean our oceans instead?

We've partnered with Matter of Trust, a San Francisco-based non-profit, to give your unused and leftover hair extensions a second life. They collect donated hair and transform it into mats and booms that absorb oil spills from our waterways - protecting marine life, beaches, and communities.

You shampoo because hair collects oil. That same science is saving our oceans.

This is what the revolution looks like. Not just building careers - building a better world, one strand at a time.

WHY IT MATTERS

  • Hair booms are deployed during real oil spills to protect coastlines and marine ecosystems.
  • A natural, renewable alternative to toxic, petroleum-based synthetic cleanup materials.
  • Creates green jobs and supports communities - perfectly aligned with the GlamLocks mission.
  • Salons and stylists worldwide have been donating since 1998. Now it's our turn.

OUR GIVE-BACK PARTNER:

Matter of Trust is a non-profit organization collecting hair, fur, and fleece to create oil-absorbing mats and booms for environmental cleanup since 1998. GlamLocks is proud to connect our stylist community with this mission.
